Monsters in the Closet

Facing the Real Threat

As children we remember our fears in the form of monsters in the closet or under the bed. For some this was a constant threat, monsters symbolizing things that were real threats, emotional or physical. That is understandable; the physical world and our inner world are so closely related. In time we understood that hiding the monsters almost makes them go away, in other words 'pretending'.
